block paving driveways in Norfolk
Norfolk is the patch we know best. We're based in Dersingham on the North-West Norfolk coast and install across the entire county: from King's Lynn and Hunstanton in the west, up to Cromer and Sheringham on the North coast, across to Great Yarmouth in the east, down through Norwich and out to Thetford in the south.
Looking for a block paving driveway in Norfolk? You're in the right place. We're serviced from our central Dersingham yard, which means quick callouts for site visits and a familiar team on the ground. We work across Norfolk itself and the surrounding villages: King's Lynn, Norwich, Great Yarmouth, Cromer, Sheringham, Hunstanton, Swaffham, Fakenham, Dereham: and we'll happily travel a little further if you're just outside.
Why block paving still leads the pack
Done properly, block paving stays sharp for decades. The combination of individual blocks, a strong sub-base and tight jointing makes it tough, repairable, and endlessly flexible in terms of look. From classic terracotta herringbone to modern grey stretcher-bond, we lay block paving that complements the property, not fights it.
- Multiple laying patterns: herringbone, basket weave, stretcher-bond and more.
- Wide colour range: neutral greys, warm buffs, terracotta, charcoal and bespoke blends.
- Decorative borders and edge details: to frame the drive and tie in with the property.
- Spot-repairable: individual blocks can be lifted and replaced without redoing the whole drive.
- Built to last: top-grade blocks on a properly compacted base will outlive most other surfaces.
How we install it
- Free site visit and design: we look at the existing space, talk patterns and colours, then put a written quote together.
- Excavate: lift the old surface and dig to the right depth for your loadings.
- Sub-base and bedding: compacted MOT type 1 and a screeded sand bed.
- Lay the blocks: to your chosen pattern, with edge restraints set in concrete.
- Joint and compact: kiln-dried sand brushed into the joints and vibrated home.
Got questions?
Frequently asked questions
Are you fully insured?
Yes, every Prestige Pave & Resin job is covered by full public liability insurance. We will happily share our certificate with you before any work starts.
Do you offer a guarantee on your work?
Yes. Every driveway, patio and resin installation comes with a written workmanship guarantee, plus the manufacturer warranty on materials such as resin and blocks.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
For most driveway and resin projects we ask for a small deposit to secure your installation slot and order materials. The balance is only paid once you are happy with the finished surface.
Will you take away the spoil and rubbish?
Yes, we clear up after ourselves on every job. Any old driveway material, excavation spoil and waste is removed and disposed of responsibly, leaving your property neat and tidy.
How long does a new driveway take to install?
Most domestic driveways take between three and seven working days, depending on the size, surface type and amount of groundwork involved. We will give you a clear timeline as part of your written quote.
Do I need planning permission for a new driveway?
Most replacement driveways do not need planning permission if you use a permeable surface like resin bound, or include drainage to a soakaway. We can advise on the right approach for your property during the site visit.
What is the difference between resin bound and resin bonded?
Resin bound is a smooth, permeable, mixed-aggregate surface that lets water through. Resin bonded uses scattered chippings on a sealed base and is non-permeable. Resin bound is the more popular finish for modern driveways.
Is resin slippery when wet?
No. A properly installed resin bound driveway has natural grip from the aggregate, and we can specify anti-slip aggregates for sloped driveways or higher-grip finishes if needed.
